Taiwan study adds little to differentiation measures, IOC says

On June 20, the international journal Food Additives & Contaminants published a scientific paper submitted by the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) regarding methods the organization has been studying to aid in the differentiation of extra virgin olive oil from lesser quality refined oils.

Research suggests fried potatoes, poor eating habits reduce lifespan

Researchers have found a link between increased mortality and frequent consumption of fried potato foods – but further research is required. Interesting research – particularly the fact that “acrylamide levels were lowest in potatoes fried on olive oil and higher in potatoes fried in trans-fat rich cooking oils”.
