The 2025 Australian International Olive Awards (AIOA) is now open for entries, offering the chance to be named Best EVOO, Flavoured Oil or Table Olive of Show. The coveted titles continue to grow in both status and reputation alongside the increasing field of entries from producers across the globe.

Ongoing quality improvement is one of the aims of the industry’s Strategic Investment Plan and R&D priorities, and the AIOA is one of the industry’s major avenues for promoting that quality improvement. The AIOA prides itself on judging rigour and excellence, with all entries assessed and awarded on their own merit. Most importantly, all entrants receive comprehensive judging feedback on each entry, providing an unrivalled opportunity for both learning and product promotion.

Successful judging also provides eligibility for AOA OliveCare® Code of Best Practice product certification – the industry’s most stringent accreditation and consumers’ guarantee of product quality and integrity.

Other benefits for entrants include:

  • Entries assessed and awarded on merit by internationally trained judges.
  • All entrants receive comprehensive judging feedback.
  • Unprecedented opportunity for international recognition of winning products and producers.
  • The comprehensive Results Book is sent out to all entrants and stakeholders, providing an invaluable marketing tool for all medal and award winners.
  • The opportunity to purchase the professional product images from the Results Book at only $20 + GST – a fraction of the price of your own professional photography.
  • Producer Index Listing in the Results Book to help buyers and consumers find your award-winning products, also accessible via the Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil Everyday website.
  • Decals for Medals (print and digital options), Best of Class and Best of Show (digital).
  • Platinum Medal awarded to exceptionally high-scoring entries.

AIOA Convenor and Chief Steward Trudie Michels said the Platinum medal and Producers Index were introduced to the competition in 2024 to provide additional benefits for entrants, with outstanding success.

“We had a great response to both initiatives, which aim to increase the marketing benefits of AIOA entry,” she said.

“We know how important accolades from international judging panels and peers is to producers and we wanted to ensure those accolades can then translate into consumer attention and increased sales. The feedback is that it worked, so we’ve locked those elements into the competition structure from now on.”
