Webinar recording surveys the clean energy landscape

webinar

The recording of the recent AOA webinar Pressing Ahead: Clean Energy Strategies for Australia’s Olive Producers is now available on the industry website, providing 24/7 access to the latest information on clean energy solutions for regional businesses.

Presented by Smart Commercial Energy experts Lauren Hamilton, Head of Marketing & Partnerships, and Kealy Day, Chief Technology Officer, the webinar provided growers with a clear, practical update on the clean energy tools that are available for regional production businesses like yours.

The session started with a break-down of the current Energy Market, including pricing patterns and the continuing move to clean energy, particularly battery storage.

Lauren and Kealy then provided an update on the current Technology, looking at rooftop solar, ground-mount solar, batteries and solar car shades – a great new opportunity for those with a farm shop – along with an overview of the various rebates and grants available.

Moving on to ‘The Numbers’, they provided a breakdown of costs for the various clean energy solutions, including installation timeframes and movements in pricing in recent years. Rounding it all up was an introduction to carbon accounting software and payment options, and case studies of comparative food production businesses who have installed clean energy systems.

Comprehensive Q&A

As with all AOA webinars, the event ended with a Q&A session, with Lauren and Kealy providing answers to questions on a wide range of topics: vehicle-to-grid technology and legislation; mitigating power outages; multi-metered properties; powering submersible pumps; in-grove solar; insuring energy systems; affect on solar rebates; state of technology innovations and off-grid sites.
