Hort Innovation seeks two new directors

Hort Innovation has opened applications for two new non-executive director positions on its Board.
In line with the company’s constitution, two of the current nine sitting Directors must retire due to their length of time in office. They may apply for re-election, however, if eligible.
The Hort Innovation Board is a skills-based Board and as such, a review has been undertaken of the skills and experience among the existing Board against the Board Skills Matrix. Subsequently, the skills focus for this year’s candidates include:
- financial reporting
- corporate finance
- risk and strategy, and
- experience in horticulture production and supply chain.
After the close of applications the Hort Innovation Director Nomination Committee (DNC) will determine a shortlist of candidates from the application pool for interviewing during September 2025.
The DNC will then nominate candidates to stand for election at the 2025 AGM, to be held in November.
Note: The four-person DNC (established under the Hort Innovation Constitution), is made up of a representative from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF); a levy payer representative chosen by DAFF; an independent eminent member selected by the Hort Innovation Board; and this year, is chaired by the Deputy Chair of the Hort Innovation Board.
