Terms such as ‘pure’ or ‘extra light’ are banned in Europe for good reason, writes Lisa Rowntree.

Australian consumers are being ripped off to the tune of $54.8 million annually buying inferior second-grade and refined olive oil, yet the Federal Government is failing to act. In fact, the Government is allowing the situation to continue by not enforcing an already agreed industry-wide standard for olive oil products sold here.
