Gippsland success at olive oil awards

Two Gippsland olive oils made their mark at the National Olive Oil awards on Monday, October 7. Grassy Spur Olives owners Helen and Peter Wright from Stony Creek scooped the pool in the class one single estate awards, with three of their extra virgin olive oils – their picual, coratina and frantoio varietal oils – receiving gold awards. The picual oil also won the best of class one as well as best extra virgin olive oil of the show. Golden Creek Olives from Fish Creek received a gold award in class one for its estate-grown and processed arbequina-picual blend and bronze awards for its leccino and frantoio varieties.
