Olive Biosecurity Plan July 2026

The Biosecurity Plan for the Australian Olive Industry (V3.0) is a framework to coordinate biosecurity activities nd investment for Australia’s olive industry. It provides a mechanism for industry, governments, and other stakeholders to better prepare for and respond to incursions of pests that could have significant impacts on the olive industry. It identifies and prioritises exotic plant pests and pathogens, other pests and pathogens of biosecurity concern and focus on future biosecurity challenges. The plan was developed in consultation with the Technical Review Panel (TRP) and Biosecurity Reference Panel (BRP). These groups were coordinated by Plant Health Australia (PHA) and included representatives from the Australian Olive Association, relevant state, and territory agriculture agencies, Research and Development Corporation (RDCs), other scientific organisations (eg. universities and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO)) and PHA (page 12).
