OSA & RAS EVOO & Table Olive Competition

The standard was high and winners came from all across the state in this year’s Olives SA/Royal Adelaide Show awards, presented on 24 October. Gold medal winners included: Boutique Single Estate Grown – Big River Olives, Mypolonga for its Signore, which also received the Best of Show award with a score of 18.5, while Multi Estate Grown Gold winner Diana Olive Oil, from Willunga, also doubled up with the 2013 Processor Award. Other Gold awards went to: Maxi Single Estate Grown – Kangaroo Paw Oil & Sundry, Buckland Park and Rosto Grove, Woolahra  (NSW); Non-Packaged – Nangkita Olives, Tooperang; Micro Volume – Michael’s Olives, Willunga and Peter Henning, Exeter (Tas). In the Table Olive competition, McLaren Vale producer Coriole Vineyards topped the Green and Kalamata classes, the latter also taking Best of Show, while The Australian Olive Company, Finniss, headed the points table in the Black and Speciality classes.
