Olive oils ain’t olive oils

A company has been issued with $20,000 of infringement notices for selling canola oil that it labelled as extra virgin olive oil. The ACCC has fined MOI International for selling the oil, which says on the front of the container ‘Extra Virgin Olive Oil’ and ‘100% Olive Oil’. In fine print on the side of the container, it reveals that the oil is in fact 93% canola oil and 7% extra virgin olive oil.
