Fire rips through olive grove

Fire crews battled for four hours as nine hectares of olive trees alongside Tukituki Rd went up in smoke on Thursday afternoon.

A fire ripped through nine hectares of olive trees and grazing alongside the Tukituki Rd on Thursday. It took fire crews with a helicopter one-and-a-half-hours to bring the “well involved” fire under control and four hours to put it out.
