A mix of local and ABARES speakers will run sessions on Global economy – local impacts, Expanding the North West – productivity and markets, Adapting to a changing environment and a closing panel discussion on Skills, training and careers for young regional Australians. Here panellists and delegates will explore topics such as demographic shifts, regional development, future producers, labour and skills, future industries, new technologies and social media. The event will be held in South Australia on Wednesday, 31 October and Thursday, 1 November 2012 at the West Lakes Function Centre. Read MoreFollowing the success of the Olives New Zealand Conference 2012, the 2013 will once again be held at the Auckland Airport Sudima Hotel. The date will be Saturday, 16 March, followed by a National Field Day on the Sunday at Simunovich Olive Estate. The Executive has decided to stay with Auckland for Conference 2013 due to easy access for flights within New Zealand and from Australia, and good deals on flights from most centres. The location, etc will be reviewed again for 2014 based on attendee feedback.
