Olive industry shrinking fast
Port Lincoln’s once thriving olive industry is on the brink of collapsing as imported oils make it hard to compete. At the peak of its success in the early 2000s, the Eyre Peninsula olive industry had more than 30 different producers catering for local and national demand. Brian Milner entered his brand Windy Hill Olives into the market in 2000 and 15 years later, looks set to become one of the Eyre Peninsula’s only producers.
