The Voluntary Industry Standard for Table Olives in Australia was prepared by the National Table Olive Committee of the Australian Olive Association Ltd (AOA), and published by RIRDC in October 2012.
The standard was revised by NTOC in January 2020, and endorsed by the AOA Board in February 2020
This is a voluntary industry standard that establishes an objective basis for the wholesale and retail trade of table olive products in Australia. The Standard is incorporated into the AOA’s Australian Olive Industry Code of Best Practice (Third Edition – Revised January 2020), which aims to guarantee the authenticity of Australian table olives and distinguish these from other products by providing consumers with a recognisable quality seal – Certified Australian Table Olives™ which is a certified trademark.
Thank you to those table olive producers and industry specialists who provided input to the development and review of this Standard.
