The keynote speaker at the fourth Australian Olive Expo in Canberra this October will be world oil expert and academic Dr Apostolos (Paul) Kiritsakis from Greece.

Dwarda Ridge Estate of Boddington won the Best WA Table Olive and Don Vica Pty Ltd of Fremantle won the Best of Show in the 2008 West Australian Olive Council (WAOC) Table Olive Competition.

At the Olive Growers Mudgee Award held earlier this month, judges noted the overall the standard of oil submitted was of a very high quality, in particular the Delicate oils on the whole exhibited a great range of subtle clean aromas with many characteristics, some with a variety of fruity flavours.

A large number of entries from across Australia were received in the 9th Australian Golden Olive Awards. Chief steward Laurel Nowacki said he was very pleased to see the continued support from past entrants and welcomed the new entrants across all categories.
