Olive oil makers bring gold to the table

The Bellarine Peninsula is fast being put on the map for its quality olive oil production after a number of local makers brought home prestigious awards last week. Three local producers, Mason’s Creek Olive Grove, Manzanillo Grove and Lighthouse Extra Virgin Olive Oil were awarded medals at this year’s Royal Melbourne Fine Food awards. Mason’s Creek Olive Grove won gold in the robust oil category and silver in the delicate oil category. This is their first gold medal and owner Rosalind Ellinger said it was worth the hard work.
