Olive oil bottles to honour WWI soldiers

Allied soldiers in the First World War took refuge under olive trees, and 100 years later their sacrifice will be further remembered by a special commemorative olive oil bottle being sold by the Marlborough Returned and Services’ Association. The idea to create and fill the small, traditionally shaped bottles with oil from the Marlborough RSA’s Burleigh Memorial Olive Grove came from Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology horticulture lecturer Don Cross.
