Hunter’s extreme weather in 2013 has done olive crop no favours

Hunter Valley olive growers say while this year’s crop is much better than the season before, they would still like to see more fruit develop in the coming weeks. Hunter Olive Association vice president Peter O’Mara says last year’s dry spring left growers with one of the worst seasons in a decade. He says the latest crop is better, but the region’s extreme weather late last year had a detrimental impact on the flowering season.
