Cooking oil maker investigated on food safety, fraud concerns

Prosecutors and health officials raided a Changhua County cooking oil maker Wednesday based on tips that the company’s olive oil products are not as pure as it claims. Authorities seized 2,490 litres of olive oil along with raw materials and accounting books during their search at Chang Chi Foodstuff Factory Co. on suspicion of fraud and violations of food safety laws.
