The following herbicides are registered for use on olives:

  • GLYPHOSATE (Roundup) – Group M Herbicide – Non-selective herbicide for the control of many annual and perennial weeds – MRL=0.1
  • GLUFOSINATE-AMMONIUM (Relyon Basher) – Group N Herbicide – Non-Residual Control of Broadleaf and Grass Weeds in Various Situations – MRL=0.1
  • PENDIMETHALIN (Fist) – Group D Herbicide – for the control of wireweed, annual grasses (including annual ryegrass) and certain broadleaf weeds – MRL=0.05
  • OXYFLUORFEN (Smart) – Group G Herbicide – For the selective control of certain broadleaf and grass weeds – MRL=1
  • CARFENTRAZONE-ETHYL (Spotlight) – Group G Herbicide – for de-suckering olives – MRL=0.05
  • ORYZALIN (Sharp Shooter) – Group D Herbicide – pre-emergent control in non bearing orchards – MRL=0.1

The product labels will specify the appropriate withholding period.

Note: We have not included a large number of bait sprays that may be applicable to olive groves and are not applied directly to a crop.
