AOA is currently researching organic certified products that may be suitable for application to olive groves.
We would be pleased to receive any recommendations and advice on these products – contact the OliveCare® Administrator olivecare@australianolives.
The following herbicides are registered for use on olives:
- GLYPHOSATE (Roundup) – Group M Herbicide – Non-selective herbicide for the control of many annual and perennial weeds – MRL=0.1
- GLUFOSINATE-AMMONIUM (Relyon Basher) – Group N Herbicide – Non-Residual Control of Broadleaf and Grass Weeds in Various Situations – MRL=0.1
- PENDIMETHALIN (Fist) – Group D Herbicide – for the control of wireweed, annual grasses (including annual ryegrass) and certain broadleaf weeds – MRL=0.05
- OXYFLUORFEN (Smart) – Group G Herbicide – For the selective control of certain broadleaf and grass weeds – MRL=1
- CARFENTRAZONE-ETHYL (Spotlight) – Group G Herbicide – for de-suckering olives – MRL=0.05
- ORYZALIN (Sharp Shooter) – Group D Herbicide – pre-emergent control in non bearing orchards – MRL=0.1
The product labels will specify the appropriate withholding period.
